Affiliate Marketing Articles

Wasn’t supposed to post that about Facebook

Tuesday, October 6th, 2009

Okay… so I just found out that I was not supposed to talk about a private beta that I am involved in. I thought I was allowed to talk about it but found out I couldn’t.

Sorry about that.

I LOVE that Cialdini is Speaking at ASW2010

Tuesday, September 29th, 2009

Ok, so Robert Cialdini is the keynote speaker at Affiliate Summit West 2010.

This is pretty exciting because I’ve written blog articles about his teachings and how they can be applied to affiliate marketing.

I Sound Like a 13 Yr Old on Video

Friday, August 14th, 2009

Is it just me or does my voice on video make me sound like a 13 year old who hasn’t hit puberty yet?

You check it out and let me know your thoughts.

Either way, thanks again Eric for having me in the video. I’ll try to post a more appropriate follow-up from ASE 2009 over the weekend.

Facebook Doesn’t Let You Target Gays in France

Friday, August 14th, 2009

So some legal issues in France has occurred where you can no longer create ads targeted for gays and lesbians through Facebook self-serve. The same goes for straight people, too.

This is interesting because normally you would want a picture of a guy for gay men and a picture of a woman for straight men… Now you can no longer make this distinction.

It will be interesting to see how this affects click-through-rates on dating campaigns in France and whether this will spread to other countries as well.

Zoosk is the Next “Big Thing” for Affiliates

Monday, July 27th, 2009

So we are launching (tomorrow) with Azoogle a new Facebook Datecard affiliate offer for US traffic. This is already available with Neverblue but if I’m not mistaken there is a waiting list to jump on this offer.

Affiliates will send users to our Facebook application and fill out the first page of their basic userprofile (datecard) which contains their name, email, gender… all the basic information of your dating profile.

The EPCs here are insane compared to our competitors so contact your affiliate managers for more details about getting on this offer.

I am also running this offer with a few affiliates directly and they have been making bank off of this as well (they are also getting the same payouts as affiliate networks).

Every day affiliates are asking what the next “big thing” is going to be. This is it.

Zoosk is in Love with Neverblue

Friday, July 24th, 2009

Zoosk (the largest social online dating site) has been running affiliate traffic with Neverblue for a few weeks now and I have been pretty impressed. They are definitely a great network to run with if you are an advertiser.

After letting Neverblue run our France, Denmark and Sweden Zoosk.com offers and our Facebook Datecard offers… we finally opened up the US for them.  I’ll be constantly refreshing my stats as we start to see traffic come in and more revenue for Zoosk, Neverblue and the awesome publishers running the offer.

Adwords Banning “Google Cash” Accounts

Friday, July 3rd, 2009

So word on the street is that affiliates running Google Grants, Google Cash, etc are getting permanently banned from advertising on AdWords.

I’m not sure how Google is going to enforce the permanement ban… What I imagine is they will put a block on your name and address on file (since they can’t ban any future John Smiths… but can ban John Smith who lives on First Street in Chicago)… I’m sure if Google is going through with the ban that your credit card number will also get blacklisted from AdWords as well.

FTC: Operation “Short Change”

Thursday, July 2nd, 2009

The FTC is coming after Google Grants, Google Profits, and related offers.

If you’re still running these offers it might be the end of the road pretty soon if people start seeing this on the news/tv.
